I quizzed a class yesterday with 10 people in the class…
Me: “How many of you do easy base cardiovascular work?”
Member: “What’s that?”
Me: “ugh”. “That’s typically when someone maintains a heart rate of 120-130 at my age. That’s a steady easy conversational pace effort.
Only one person admitted to doing base cardiovascular work.
This is a problem. You do not have a healthy cardiovascular system if everything is hard, if you don’t take it easy, and you will never develop as an athlete. I know sometimes going hard makes you feel like you are doing more and sometimes it feels more fun, but it’s not productive.
Easy base cardio for 1 hour- 1 hour and 30 min
